3:10 to Yuma

I don't remember seeing the original but now I have to.

A good friend and I saw the movie after work yesterday (finally) and found it very enjoyable. It had all the old cliches (except a standup gunfight): stagecoach robberies, pursuits on horseback, evil railroad types but brought a few new things to the table. A nuanced performance by Russell Crowe made Christian Bale's understated performance (which was very good) seem pallid in comparison.

Catch on the big screen. It'll be worth it. It's not Unforgiven, but it's one of the better Westerns to be produced since the heydeys of the '50s-'70s.
