I purchased the car a year ago from the 1st owner who lived in San Diego - fortunately for me, she had an extended warranty and fixed every little squeak. Just the sort of maintenance I was looking for in a high-end luxury car. This car has never been smoked in. The seats are stain and tear-free. Headliner and carpets are immaculate (with the exception of some minor staining in the carpet of the driver footwell due to feet). This has been addressed by the purchase of a new set of Infiniti-brand carpet (front and rear). I've been the same sort of owner, having a lot of preventative maintenance done as well as standard maintenance (I had planned to keep the car for a few years yet). This is the 282hp model, redesigned pretty thoroughly after the 1993 model year to make it more quiet (added much heavier window glass and more sound installation in the doors and flooring) and reliable (they replaced the plastic chain tensioners in the V8 with steel).
Why am I selling this immaculate car? Because I'm moving to France shortly. I'm planning on it being a permanent move and its not practical to mothball the car. As much as I love it, I figure I can always buy another should I return. She has been totally reliable and a joy to drive.
What's been done to the car? Well, the original owner in San Diego had everything possible done to the car in the seven years she owned it. She had an extended "fix everything" warranty, and she used it. I have the complete service records from day one. The car has had its oil changed every 3000 miles (or less) for its entire life. Notable fixes by the previous owner were fuel injector replacement, CD player replacement (with the Sony 6-cd unit), window motor replacements, sunroof motor replacement. Upon purchasing the car, I had it thoroughly inspected and found very little wrong. It needed new tires and new steering links in the front suspension (a typical wear item on the Q45). So here is what I've replaced or had done in the last year (I purchased the car in February of last year): All scheduled maintenance at the recommended intervals Oil changes every 2500 miles, with Mobil 1 synthetic and the recommended Infiniti-brand filter All fluids (brake, transmission, rear differential) replaced with Mobil 1 synthetics New interior carpets (blonde) - it looks really good in contrast to the dark tan interior New leather steering wheel cover (two-tone to match carpets) New tires (Yokohama AVS-db, 225/50x15) New steering rods (front) New transmission mount New shocks (standard Infiniti brand) New air, oil, fuel filters (all Infiniti) Complete fuel system cleaning and flush Complete brake system cleaning and flush Complete transmission drain, flush, and refill New transmission filter New evaporator/condensor for AC system Complete AC system flush and refill with new coolant Rear differential disassembly, inspection and cleaning Knock sensors replaced All hoses under the intake plenum replaced New throttle position sensor New platinum spark plugs Rear deck speakers replaced with re-conditioned stock units Approximately $6500 invested in preventative and regularly scheduled maintenance in the last year. This car will not need anything outside of regular maintenance for at least another eighteen months.
